Jessica Simpson Officially Quits "Pop"... Has No Rhythm

Jessica Simpson says she's done with pop music, and will concentrate on country. She is preparing for the September release of her new album and she already feels more comfortable in her new genre.

Jessica said: "I will never do pop again. I'm just not rhythmic like that. I might shake my booty, but I'll be off the beat. My sister Ashlee has got all the rhythm in the family."

Sources: Jennifer Aniston & John Mayer Split

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer have called it quits, multiple sources confirm to PEOPLE.

"They had a great time together but they are just in different places in their lives right now," says a source of Aniston, 39, and Mayer, 30, who kicked off their courtship in April.

A friend of Mayer adds that a reconciliation isn't necessarily out of the question: "He never ends things with a clean slate. He likes to dwell on these relationships and sort everything out before saying goodbye for good."

The split was first reported Wednesday by the
U.K.'s Mirror, which said the couple split earlier this week, after initially deciding to spend some time apart.

Reps for Aniston and Mayer have declined to comment.

ARIZONA BOY WANDERS INTO MEXICO AFTER SCHOOL BUS MIX-UP

School officials in San Luis, Ariz., are investigating a busing mix-up that ended with a 6-year-old boy wandering alone in Mexico.

The boy was headed home when he boarded a school bus with a different route than the one he usually takes. The boy's mother said her son was disoriented when he got off and crossed into Mexico, where he thought he could reach his grandfather's home.

The boy was safely returned after being picked up by a stranger.

(The President of the School Board for the Elementary School says he will take corrective action immediately.)

Catch you later, Colonel Mustard: ‘Clue’ goes tabloid

The six characters' last names remain the same, but their first names and bios have been updated. For example, Miss Scarlet is now Kasandra Scarlet, a famous actress often featured in tabloids.

Goodbye, professor. Farewell, colonel.

Toy maker Hasbro Inc. has updated its classic Clue game for today's tabloid culture to include younger characters, more weapons, and new rooms, including a spa and guest house.

The six characters' last names remain the same, but their first names and bios have been updated. For example, Miss Scarlet is now Kasandra Scarlet, a famous actress often featured in tabloids. And Mr. Green is now Jacob Green, an African-American "with all the ins."

Colonel Mustard is now Jack Mustard, a former football player. The professor? Now Victor Plum, a billionaire video game designer.

Each character — rounded out by Eleanor Peacock and Diane White — also now has a special power that could help players discover clues more quickly. New “intrigue” and “clock” cards add clues and can eliminate players in the latest version of the game.

Hasbro has also lengthened the weapons list from six to nine. The candlestick, knife and rope remain, but now weapons choices include a dumbbell, trophy or poison. The lead pipe, revolver and wrench are no longer part of the game.

Meanwhile, new rooms include a theater, spa and guest house nearby.

Pawtucket, R.I.-based Hasbro has previously updated Clue — first created in 1949 — with an express version and a Simpsons version, but the new incarnation will be a replacement for the original version of Clue currently on store shelves.

Boo Hoo or Yoo Hoo Breakfast?
Monday 08-18-2008 9:28am ET

Today is the first day of school.  Lots of parents are sending their children off to kindergarten and we wanted to be on the scene.  Many of the school have a Boo Hoo Breakfast for Moms and Dads who are leaving their babies for the first time at the big school.  This morning we were there for what we were expecting would be tears.  The only thing was....the only tears were from Blythe who is sending off number 5 to kindergarten.  The other first time moms were excited and happy to send their little one off.  One mom was saying that she is a little bit closer to going from the minivan to the convertible she dreams about.  So what we thought would be a moment of tears at the Boo Hoo Breakfast turned into more of a Yoo Hoo Breakfast as the kids kick off the first day of school.  And don't worry....Blythe finally stopped crying!

No, not an alien...just your local morning host getting into uniform for Blythes synchronized swimming challenge. I don't believe it should be an Olympic sport like those other light weight sports...ping pong and badminton....I'm still not convinced about beach volleyball either.

Soon we'll hit the pool and my point will be proven....keep checking back for the video of this impending disaster.

Love Stories from the Olympics
Wednesday 08-13-2008 9:49am ET

We love great love stories....here is a sweet love story from the Olympics.

As the Czech Republic's Katy Emmons was on the verge of winning the first gold medal of the 2008 Olympic Games on Saturday, there was at least one person in the venue more nervous than she — her husband and fellow Olympic shooter, American Matt Emmons.

"Whenever you’re watching the other one, you’re always more nervous than the one shooting," Matt Emmons said.

Matt and Katy Emmons are living an Olympic fairy tale. They met in 2004 in Athens, where Katy won bronze and Matt not only won gold, but also made history … albeit not the kind he was hoping to make.

Matt entered the finals of the 50m rifle 3 position final with a huge lead, and essentially only needed to hit the target to win. But instead of securing his second gold of the games, he aimed at the wrong target, received a score of zero, and plummeted to eighth place.

Katy, who was watching the match, felt so bad for Matt that she approached him at a beer garden later that day to console him. The chemistry between the two was instant. They began dating, and the couple married in 2007.

Beijing is their first Olympics competing as husband and wife.

"I think it’s wonderful having my teammate, my wife, with me every day, and that’s perfect," Matt said. "But it would be less stress sometimes, because you’re worried about the other one when they’re competing. So instead of just worrying about yourself, now there’s another person."

Matt was nervous but confident as he watched Katy in the first event of these Beijing Games.

"I knew she was prepared," Matt said. "I knew she could do it."

Her surprising win
Katy’s victory may not have been a surprise to Matt, but it was somewhat surprising to others. The 10-meter air rifle was chosen as the first event of the games because Chinese officials expected shooter Du Li, the defending champion, to win easily, thus capturing the first gold medal for the host country. Li finished a disappointing fifth.

"I feel bad for [Li]," Katy said. "They pretty much put the pressure on her that if she does not win, she will disappoint the people. I mean, if someone tells you that, I think I would be done. It’s just a lot. She has all my respect."

Instead of China, it was the Czech Republic celebrating the first gold medal of the Beijing Games, and the response was overwhelming, Katie said. On Saturday evening, she was lavished with gifts at the Czech House — an inscribed traditional Czech glass, two cakes and flowers — and toasted by her countrymen; she also received a plethora of congratulatory messages from home.

"Whenever you’re watching the other one, you’re always more nervous than the one shooting," said Matt Emmons after watching his wife win the gold medal.

"I think they were so proud of me, I got such great feedback," Katy said. "I got so many messages and e-mails it was just great …. I could just feel that they were proud."

Katy has another chance to make her country — and her husband — proud when she competes in her second event on Aug. 14.

"It’s so motivating to have Matt by my side because he’s the same level athlete and we can talk about it at the same level," Katy said. "I’m sure it helps both of us."

Katy is hoping to help Matt remember to aim for the right target at his events on Aug. 15 and 17. Taking home four gold medals between them would certainly add a storied chapter to their Olympic romance, but for Katy and Matt, the happily-ever-after doesn’t depend on hardware. They are going to try to add a little Olympian to their family.

"We’re hoping to start after the games. We’re hoping to start soon. That’s something that’s very important to us," Matt said. "Family is much more important to us than sports, so we’re looking forward to it."
